Back to the Drawing Board: Photo Apps

Today’s Back to the Drawing Board image was not created on a drawing board. It was created by taking a pic with my iPad and running it through a simple photo app. Then I downloaded it and cropped it. The whole process took about 30 minutes (including download time over a busy wifi network).

The subject in the pic is my wife, Barb. I’m running a follow-up article on her photo business, Barb Carmen Photography, and I wanted to prep the week by featuring her in the Back to the Drawing Board category. But I don’t have a lot of time to actually be on the drawing board right now and I’m a little rusty with pen and pencil so this will have to do. It’s not great but it’s quick.

There’s something to be said for the enormous number of apps that get the simple tasks done without a lot of fuss. Free apps are often limited in functionality (a little frustrating) but unlimited in the number of in-app ads (really frustrating). When possible I recommend trying before buying and then paying the fee for the ad-free version. They’re not all of the same quality, so read the reviews and choose carefully.

BTW: Today’s post was created with the Photo Lab Picture Editor from VicMan LLC. I wanted to try before buying and used the free version (hence the watermark on the image). It’s pretty good!
